NSS
National Service Scheme, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports Govt. of India, popularly known as NSS was launched in Gandhijis Birth Centenary Year 1969, in Universities involving students with primary focus on the development of personality of students through community service.
From its inception, students from Universities, Colleges and Institutions of higher learning have benefited from the NSS activities, as student volunteers.
The Motto of NSS "Not Me But You", reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for self-less service.
NSS Cell of the college provide platform to the students for social service. The cardinal principle of the programme is that it is organised by the students and teachers through their combined participation in social services, get a sense of involvement in the tasks of National Development.
Students enrolled as NSS volunteer should put in at least 120 hours of social work in a year for continuous period of two years i.e 240 hours in two years
The Programme officer is expected to inspire student youth to understand the values and philosophy of NSS. The overall function of Programme officer is to help the students to plan, implement, and evaluate the activities of NSS under his charge and give proper guidance and directions to the student volunteers.
